I think we can all admit that the Notebook makes us cry...every time. But for me, I'm not just crying because it's a beautiful story, I'm crying because I desperately want the house that Noah builds Allie. I mean...come on...look at it!

Now if you're anything like me, you don't live on a legacy property with waterfront acreage, but that doesn't mean you can't bring a little bit of this timeless, classic coastal style to your home. Let's start at the beginning with a Notebook inspired porch redesign :
Start with the chairs and keep them classic!
Solid wood and white, but beyond that you can get creative. Adirondack, wicker - whatever feels right for you. I personally love a rocking chair like these:
Next you need a table to set your ice team and lemonade on!
On this you can't go wrong with more white wood, something that matches your chairs is totally fine. My preferance is to add a pop of color while sticking to the coastal theme. Patterns are great so long as they feel timeless. Also, I love a ceramic or tiled table outside for easy clean up. Here's my pick:
Now for the fun part: the details that make the look
The details are where you can add your personal style, but be wary, this is also where you can move from timeless coastal to clunky and outdated. My recommendation - lighting, candles, linens, and greenery.
Move from bucket lights to pendant lighting on your porch with this southern inspired pendant lantern:
Then add more warmth with candles, but make sure they have proper wind protection to prevent flames from spreading. I love the look of these:
Finally, add some comfort with outdoor blankets and pillows. Linen is a classic for outdoor use, especially if you can add some fun patterns like this one:
